When we decided to come up with a drawing board we wanted something useful to an artist, strong and well-made using sustainable high quality woods. We also wanted a piece that could offer quick access to artist materials and could remedy fatigue by making the board adjustable. Thus was born the... 'Back to the Drawing Board'
With our precious earth in mind 100 percent of the hardwood used in this piece (and many of our pieces) originates as cut-offs from a high-end furniture manufacturer. We use Baltic Birch because it's layered hardwood and doesn't scratch or mar like other cheap softwoods.
Key Elements of the Design:
► Storage-Drawing Top: It's designed to store and offer quick access to pens, markers, erasers, sharpeners and more.
► Storage-Bottom Section: A deep section is cut into the the board for the storage of a quantity of 11x17 inch paper.
► Your Choice of Marker/Pencil: The holes in the upper board can be cut to allow storage of pencils, speciality markers (Copic Ciao, Sketch, Prisma, Newton, Tombow, etc... your choice at no extra charge).
► Hardware Utillized: A high-quality 'piano' style hinge runs the entire length of the bottom to combine both panel sections.
► Board Adjustability: An easily adjustable solid metal rod allows quick and solid positioning of the board for your most most comfortable working position.
► Dimensions: 26" wide x 17" tall x 1.3" depth (when closed)
► Finish: Each piece receives a special hand blended Oil/Beeswax finish which protect the wood against moisture and provides a beautiful satin finish.
